  1. he builds up suspense before he holds up the baseball
tickets by saying, "like favorite foods, special songs, games, stories... and like birthdays." His aunt also comes home early to give him his favorite cake, which is Caribbean lemon and mango cake. Finally he gets a collage from his Uncle, I know this because it says 'Then I ripped of the wrappings'.-Boss

  5. James did not expect the great things Uncle Romie and him did on his birthday like going to a baseball game, talking, and laughing about things they have in common. Also that night when his aunt came back they all had Caribbean cake. Also he gets a late birthday present from Uncle Romie... A collage of his time in New York. So in the end Uncle Romie is a sweet and friendly guy.

  15. James had a lot of fun on his birthday because of his uncle Romie. He thought he was going to have the worst birthday ever, but it ended up being great. The cause of this is that they got to have peanuts and go to a baseball game. His uncle Romie and him got to get to know each other better and become friends. On the way back home uncle Romie gave him a last minute birthday present. It was a college from all the fun times he had in New York. In the end it was uncle Romie's b-day and he sent him his very first college saying "Happy Birthday Uncle Romie!!!" -Ellie

  16. I think that uncle Romie was kind, sweet, and loving to others. I think that James is really suprised when his uncle makes a great breckfast and gives him his birthday present from his parents. I think he was suprised about all of this because uncle Romie was always in his studio and only came out at night. Suprisingly Romie knew a lot more about baseball then James thought they had a wonderful time at the baseball game evan though they didn't cathch a baseball. Romie was nice, kind, and good to others. I really liked how they gave him his birthday present when he got on the train. I really enjoyed this story.

  17. In the beginning,James thought that Uncle Romie only cared about his "stupid paintings", but it turned out that he made James' birthday really special. Uncle Romie is a nice, kind, genorus, man and he took James out to a baseball game which is not what James expected out of UR (Uncle Romie). UR also gave James a present to take on the train home, so UR is pretty nice. So, James, gave UR a b-day present for UR's birthday in return. I really enjoyed this story.

  19. Uncle Romie makes Jamie's birthday special for him by painting him pictures and getting sweet presents for him and taking him to a baseball game. When Uncle Romie paints the pictures it really shows that he is kind and wants to make sure Jamie has a spectacular birthday. Uncle Romie seems to be a very nice person, even if Jamie thought his birthday was "ruined" when his aunt had to leave. But even with just his Uncle Romie, it still turned out to be a
    great birthday after all.
